The Start, The Center, The Seed

Birth is everything. It is the headwaters of life, of mothering, and of family. It is a microcosm and mirror of relationships, capitalism, nature, politics, society, self-image. It is a reflection of the state of our being, and birth culture is being constantly co-created by us and our environment. Our children -born and unborn- are always in communication with us and giving us so much information, insights and lessons. It is so interesting to ponder the power we have to either reinforce or destroy systems, habits, ideas, and old ways of being in all areas of life.

Birth is absolutely transformative for us and formative for our children. The way you were born was totally formative for you, even if you can't remember it. However, it does not always form us towards our highest selves, or allow us to step into our highest power and divinity. Why? Because many women are not intentionally choosing their birth, or making the choices which place them as the authority over how their birth unfolds. Many women are moving through their pregnancies and births unconsciously, and lack awareness or are wrongly influenced in comprehending the logical consequences of their decisions. We have been conditioned and completely convinced that the safest and most optimal birth choices are ones that include at the very least: surveillance, diagnostics, and medical professionals. We have been taught that we could not possibly know anything - that someone else knows better and should manage us and our bodies. This is simply not true, there is so much deprogramming before us.

The good news is, women are designed to birth. Women own birth, simple, "uneducated," regular women. The body of a Mother is undistinguishable from her growing baby, they are ONE. To attempt separation of the mother and baby whether psychologically or physically is a violation of nature's perfect and sacred design. As nature would have it, there is never, in any situation in life, a guarantee of safety. But we move in trust, and we protect ourselves with what we know to be true. What I know is that birth typically unfolds just fine. I know birth is safest in familiarity, quiet, darkness, and being unobserved. I know the power of birth is accessible to all women, and that there is so much to access there. Birth matters. I know birth reflects where we are, who we are, and what we want to create in the world- whether

we are aware of it or not.

So let us be intentional, let us be aware. Let us be conscious of the world we are creating. Mothers have the privilege of weaving the energy of the next generation from the very start, so let's do it on purpose. If birth is the seed, let's plant a world where we have sovereignty over our bodies, and deep trust in our intuition. A world of gentleness, connection, and healthy attachment. Let's lead with love, not fear. It can be deep work, and we can do hard things. I am devoted to and honored to walk with women as they find their power within.
